Jammu, June 13: The Jammu & Kashmir Journalist Welfare Association has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests and welfare of journalists across Jammu & Kashmir. The association aims to serve as a strong platform for media professionals, addressing their professional, social, and welfare-related concerns.
JKJWA stated that journalists play a crucial role in strengthening democracy by bringing truth and information to the public. Recognizing the challenges faced by media persons in the line of duty, the association has pledged to work tirelessly for their welfare, safety, and professional development.
The association plans to focus on key issues including journalists’ rights, welfare schemes, legal assistance, training programs, health support initiatives, and emergency relief for media professionals and their families. JKJWA also intends to engage with government authorities and relevant stakeholders to advocate for policies that benefit the journalism community.
Speaking on the occasion, office bearers of the association said that JKJWA will strive to unite journalists from all regions of Jammu & Kashmir under a common platform dedicated to their welfare and empowerment. The association emphasized the importance of ethical journalism, professional excellence, and mutual cooperation among media professionals.
JKJWA further appealed to journalists across the Union Territory to join hands with the organization in its mission to strengthen the media fraternity and ensure that journalists receive the support, recognition, and protection they deserve.
The association expressed confidence that through collective efforts, it will be able to make a meaningful contribution towards the welfare and upliftment of journalists in Jammu & Kashmir while promoting responsible and independent journalism.
